Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

In 2016 the SBS drama 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' was filmed around the Sabigung palace at Buyeo's Baekje Cultural Land. The history theme park recreates the Baekje-era Sabi palace and served as the backdrop for many key scenes of Wang So and Hae-soo.

A history theme park that rebuilds Sabigung, the Baekje royal palace of the Sabi period, at full scale — and which stood in for the Goryeo court in SBS's 2016 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo'. The twist is that the corridors and throne hall Wang So and Hae-su move through are actually Baekje architecture. Past Sabigung comes Neungsa, the royal temple, so palace and temple connect in one walk.

A historical drama set built around the Baekje period, and the texture of the world Hae-su falls into was made here. The buildings follow old construction methods, so the alleys, walls and rooflines look exactly as they did on screen. It is half an hour by car from the Baekje Cultural Land, so Buyeo's two Baekjes can be seen in one trip.
