In Park Chan-wook's 2022 'Decision to Leave', this rock is the site of the fall that brings the two leads together. One of Sokcho's eight scenic points, it puts the Seorak ridgeline and the East Sea in a single frame across Lake Yeongrang. In spring the cherry blossoms ringing the lake come into that frame too.
