Chunhyangjeon is a classic Korean tale set in Namwon, and Gwanghalluwon, Scenic Site No. 33, is known as the place where Seong Chunhyang and Lee Mong-ryong first met. Across the garden, Chunhyang Theme Park was a filming location for director Im Kwon-taek's film 'Chunhyang' (2000), and Namwon holds the annual Chunhyang Festival around Gwanghalluwon.

The garden handed down as the place where Chunhyang and Mongryong first met. Gwanghallu, the pavilion at its centre, burned in the 1597 Japanese invasion, was rebuilt in 1626, and after four centuries was elevated from Treasure to National Treasure in July 2026. The Chunhyang Festival fills these grounds each May and draws over a million visitors.
Chunhyang Theme Park
전북특별자치도 남원시 양림길 14-9 (어현동)
A theme park where the set from Im Kwon-taek's 'Chunhyang' (2000) survives in the section themed on love and parting. The scene of Chunhyang on the swing was shot in the woods around here. It sits across the Yocheon stream from Gwanghalluwon, so the two pair naturally on foot.
